Yaşar YALÇIN

Founding Partner / Advisory Committee Member

After graduating from Istanbul University Faculty of Law in 1986, I completed my law internship and began my legal career in 1988 as a lawyer registered with the Istanbul Bar Association. Between 1988-1993, I practiced law independently in my own office, primarily focusing on corporate law, real estate law, execution law, and family-inheritance law.

I worked as a lawyer and manager in the department responsible for collecting and liquidating overdue receivables within Kuwait Türk Legal Consultancy.

After leaving Kuwait Türk, I participated in establishing the Mutlu (Mutlu-Halaçoğlu-Yalçın-Ayaz) Law Partnership with colleagues I had worked with, and continued as a Founding Partner and Board Member Lawyer in this partnership until 2014.

In order to conduct studies and research in the field of Islamic finance and banking, I joined as a founding partner in ISFA Islamic Finance and Consultancy, which was established in 2014 as a special consultancy company in the field of Islamic finance and banking, together with a group of bankers, lawyers, and theologians from the sector/practice.

ISFA Islamic Finance Consultancy Ltd. Co., as of today, is the first institutional company providing institutional consultancy services in the field of Islamic law in our sector, primarily serving Ziraat Participation Bank, which is the first public participation bank, as well as other banks, insurance-takaful companies, pension funds, portfolio companies, real estate investment funds, venture capital investment funds, and Asset Leasing Companies in Sukuk issuances, and continues to serve many of these and new requests from the sector.

I continue my work as a founding partner within ISFA, particularly serving as an advisory committee member in development investment banks and lease certificate issuances.
